The purpose of this module was to understand the cut, fit and details of the pant/trouser by employing critical observation skills. We were introduced to the process of trouser block pattern drafting & the key principles to style & component developments.

For this brief I looked to Japanese designers for inspiration and came across the fold-over pants by Yohji Yamamoto. Thinking about playing around with folds I came up with this pair which had “wings” in the outseams that clipped onto domes in the front and back allowing the wearer to manipulate the look.
